Your date

It's time for your OTP to go on their first date together. Or maybe your nOTP needs to meet up for the hundredth time so that Person A can get information from Person B in the form of a date. No matter what the circumstances, date scenes can be hard to start and end. Here are a few things to consider to help you with writing it. Some questions off the dialogue page could also be of help.

  1. Do they meet there? If so, who arrives first?

  2. Does one pick the other up? If so, who drives and who is driven? How are the rides?

  3. How does Person A prepare? How long does it take xir? What else does xe do on the day of the date?

  4. What does xe pick to wear? Is xe overdressed or underdressed?

  5. What does Person A expect to happen? What does xe hope will happen? Are they the same?

  6. What does Person B expect to happen? What does xe hope will happen? Are they the same?

  7. Is the couple "Facebook-official?" Why or why not?

  8. What does Person B pick to wear? How does it compare to what Person A is wearing?

  9. Are they satisfied with the date as a whole when it ends? Why or why not?

  10. How long does the date last? How and why does it end?

  11. Have either of them been to the location of the date before?

  12. If it's a food date, what do they each order? How are their manners?

  13. What small details does Person A notice about Person B throughout the date?

  14. What do they learn about each other during the date? What do readers learn about them? How does this move the plot forward?

  15. How does the date compare with what they expected and hoped to happen?
